DEE PHILLIPS
- combines a
strong sense of design dazzled with rich vibrant colors
in her work to give viewers a visual treat. Each painting
is alive and energetic reflecting not only the artist's
feeling about life but also sharing the experience of the
moment.

- Dee, a
Signature Member of Southwestern Watercolor Society and a
Purple Sage Brush Signature Member of Texas Watercolor
Society, has been a watercolor instructor for almost 30
years. She has been with Dougherty Arts Center 12 years
and was with Austin Fine Arts Academy 2 years. Dee was
associated with Michael's Arts & Crafts as
demonstrator/instructor for almost five years. She served
several years as an associate instructor for the Austin
Independent School District (SNAP-TO) and four years an
instructor for the Eanes Independent School District.

honors of recent years have been the 2003 Official Artist
of Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, National
Watercolor Society 2000 Members Juried Show, Aqueous USA
2000, Southern Watercolor Society 23rd Exhibition,
Waterloo Watercolor Group Merit Award 1999, Texas Classic
Award KLRU 1996, Waterloo Watercolor Group Honorable
Mention 1995, Texas Treasure Award KLRU 1994, Waterloo
Watercolor Group Spring Juried Show Best Of Show 1992,
Messina Hof Texas Label Contest Best Of Show 1991 and
selected for Western Federation Of Watercolor Societies
Juried & Traveling Show 1991.

- Being a
graduate of the New York School Of Interior Design gives
Dee an added insight in helping clients with special
requirements for corporate and residential needs. All of
her adult life has been devoted to the applied arts,
which include fashion shows and fashion design, interior
design, and the visual arts.

- Dee's artwork
was on the cover of the Journal of American Veterinary
Medical Association, September 15, 2000 and May 1st, 2006.
Paintings/articles have been published in Austin Home and
Gardens 1996, Artists Of Texas Vol. 11, University Of
Texas Law School brochures, and her mustang painting Wild
and Free was chosen for the promotional art work for the
Big D Charity Horse Show, Dallas TX 1994.
